Paul in verse 12 will say under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit to “Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling”; and then in verse 13 he says, for it is God who works in you both to will and do for His good pleasure. To understand and walk in the “joy” that is promised in this epistle, every believer needs to understand what is the biblical definition of “salvation”, and how does that apply to my life personally today.
