Daily Devotion - Easter 2025

Here's a 5-day Bible reading plan and devotional guide:

Day 1: The Greatest Declaration
Reading: John 19:28-30

Devotional: "It is finished." These three words, spoken by Jesus on the cross, are perhaps the most powerful declaration in human history. As we reflect on Christ's sacrifice, consider the depth of God's love that led Him to complete this mission of salvation. How does knowing that Jesus fully paid for your sins impact your daily life? Take time to thank God for His finished work and consider areas in your life where you might be trying to "earn" what has already been freely given.

Day 2: The Power of the Resurrection
Reading: Matthew 28:1-10

Devotional: "He is risen!" This triumphant announcement changed everything. The resurrection proves that Jesus' sacrifice was accepted by God and that death has been defeated. As you meditate on the empty tomb, reflect on how the living Christ impacts your life today. Are there areas where you need to experience His resurrection power? Ask God to help you live in the reality of His victory over sin and death.

Day 3: The Lamb of God
Reading: Genesis 22:1-14; John 1:29-34

Devotional: Abraham's prophetic words, "God will provide himself the lamb," find their ultimate fulfillment in Jesus. As John the Baptist declared, Jesus is "the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world." Reflect on how Jesus' sacrifice as the perfect Lamb connects the Old and New Testaments. How does seeing Jesus as God's provided Lamb deepen your understanding of salvation? Thank God for His perfect provision in Christ.

Day 4: From Worm to Conqueror
Reading: Psalm 22:1-18; Philippians 2:5-11

Devotional: Psalm 22 vividly portrays Christ's suffering, where He becomes like a "worm" for our sake. Yet this same One is exalted as Lord of all. Meditate on the incredible humility of Christ, who willingly took on our shame to redeem us. How does this example of selfless love challenge you? Ask God to help you embrace humility and sacrificial love in your own life, following Christ's example.

Day 5: The Hope of His Return
Reading: 1 Corinthians 11:23-26; Revelation 4:1-11

Devotional: As we take communion, we not only look back to Christ's death but also forward to His return. The words "Come up here" in Revelation give us a glimpse of our future hope. How does the anticipation of Christ's return impact your daily life? Reflect on areas where you need to realign your priorities in light of eternity. Pray for a renewed sense of urgency in sharing the gospel and living for God's kingdom.
