The theme of chapter 4 is the memorial stones; God is not content with just crossing a river, He is not content with just doing a supernatural work of taking Jericho, God's heart is filled with the next generation and the next generation and the next generation and all memorials are for succeeding generations.

Joshua has been called to lead the people.
